I sadly missed Jor-El Espina’s 20th anniversary show, “20 Design Anthologies,” because of a prior important commitment but even just seeing the photos and videos online felt like i was there. Every piece had a story to tell. Each show look reflects a chapter of his two-decade journey in fashion. What stood out to me was how seamlessly he mixed structure and softness, metallic fabrics, sculpted silhouettes, and bold colors balanced with intricate Filipino craftsmanship. It felt like a perfect blend of past and present, tradition and experimentation.
What I’ve always loved about Jor-El is how he can playfully mix prints and fabrics and somehow make it all work. Never chaotic, always intentional, and always a statement. That same confidence carried through this collection. Each look felt distinct yet connected, like pieces of one grand story about artistry and evolution. “20 Design Anthologies” wasn’t just a fashion show; it was a reminder that style becomes timeless when it’s rooted in soul. And if this milestone is any indication, Jor-El Espina’s next chapters are bound to be even more breathtaking.
Here are some of my favorite looks from his collection.
