Canada Philippine Fashion Week 2014

The 2^nd Annual celebration of Canada Philippine Fashion Week,  CPFW 2014 returns this year with an even bigger and more spectacular lineup featuring Philippine fashion icons, Visionaries and rising stars. It will take place in Toronto, Canada from June 9^th - 14^th, 2014 and will be comprised of a variety of key programs: The Premiere Collection, Independencia: Filipino Pride and Style, Philippine Icons of Style, Manila Chic, The Visionary Collection, Project Terno, Future Perfect, CPFW Model of the Year, Canada Philippine Fashion Ball, and CPFW Showroom. 

THE PREMIERE COLLECTION: FEATURING RAJO LAUREL

CPFW’s spectacular First Runway Night kicks off with the Premiere Collection of Top Philippine Fashion Designer and brand Rajo Laurel. Trained in New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology and Central Saint Martin's in London, Rajo’s workmanship and artisan quality is what make his collection distinct and a cut above the rest. Standout details such as embroidery, beadwork and hand painted prints elevate his clothes into exceptional fashionable pieces of art. 

PHILIPPINE ICONS OF STYLE
Debuting for the first time outside of its homeland, The Philippine Icons of Style is a curated fashion show and exhibits featuring the legendary works of Philippine fashion legends Ben Farrales, Noli Hans, Mike Dela Rosa, Loreto Popioco, Rusty Lopez, Oskar Peralta, and Efren Ocampo.                            

This year, we are very proud to honor Philippine Icon of Style, Frederick Peralta with a special CPFW ICON AWARD for 30 years of artistry and contribution to Philippine Fashion. Peralta will be celebrating his 30^th year anniversary with a special 30-piece collection to be showcased in Toronto.

 

THE VISIONARY COLLECTION: FEATURING NOEL CRISOSTOMO

This year’s CPFW Visionary is Noel Crisostomo, a Filipino-Canadian Designer who best exemplifies a modern day, forward thinking, fashion genius. With a Canadian design sensibility and his love for “haute couture and tailoring traditions”, Noel has developed a personal vision of timeless elegance, where the classic generates a new modernity. His collections have consistently ranked #1 for the Season’s Best Collection by Philippine Fashion magazines.

 

 

MANILA CHIC

Manila chic pays homage to today’s fashion stars and the Filipino modern day aesthetic. Preview the Pret-a-Porter collections of Kim Gan, Norman Noriega, Avel Bacudio, Ann Ong, John Paras, Ronaldo Arnaldo, Jerome Salaya Ang, Joel Escober, Jinggo Inoncillo, Jontie Martinez, Don Ramiro and Odelon Simpao.

 

FUTURE PERFECT 

Future Perfect is presented by the Philippine Fashion Group - a collective of young, Avant-garde, rising stars from the Philippines, who are breaking the mold and setting the style standards for the future of Philippine fashion. Spearheaded by “Look of Style 2012” winner, Roland Alzate, the group includes Michael Leyva, Jaggy Glarino, Kristal de Guzman, Mak Tumang, Renan Pacson, Joana Almagro, and Emir Yamamoto.

INDEPENDENCIA:  FILIPINO PRIDE & STYLE

Jose Rizal believed that excellence achieved in arts and culture would elevate the status of Filipinos worldwide. Spend June 12^th in CPFW INDEPENDENCIA: FILIPINO PRIDE & STYLE, and indulge in the collections of Top Filipino-Canadian Designer Shanon Pamaong, the exquisite Barongs of Bergamo and the latest designs of Philippine Ambassador of Fashion, Renee Salud. This night will also host Project Terno whereby more then 30 Top fashion designers from the Philippines and Canada interpret the world’s most haute couture national dress, the Filipino butterfly sleeved “Terno”.

CPFW MODEL OF THE YEAR
In its ongoing mission to diversify and expand the definition of global beauty, CPFW proudly presents it own modeling search, CPFW Model of the Year, eligible to citizens of both Canada and the Philippines. Winners will receive a contract with a major modeling agency and the winners will also be the faces and catwalk models of CPFW 2014.

CANADA PHILIPPINE FASHION BALL: SALUTE TO FRANCIS LIBIRAN
Kol Hope Foundation for Children proudly presents CANADA PHILIPPINE FASHION BALL, a beautiful charity gala dinner and a beautiful salute to Top Philippine Fashion Designer Francis Libiran.  Francis Libiran quickly rose to prominence after becoming a featured designer on “America’s Next Top Model”. Described as “extremely hard-working, tedious and passionate”, Libiran creates signature pieces that reflect his background in Architecture, and cosmopolitan perspective. Canada Philippine Fashion Week proudly presents his 2014 collection on the main runway at our First Annual Canada Philippine Fashion Ball, in support of Kol Hope Fund@World Vision.

SHOWROOM
CPFW Showroom is a special initiative launched by Canada Philippine Fashion Week, to serve as a sales distribution arm for Philippine fashion designers who are looking to market and sell their designs to the Canadian market.
