13 Things We Should Know About: Nat Manilag

1. Ever since I was a child, I always wanted to design clothes, most specially dresses.

2. I can still remember when I was 8, I was in elementary that time when I got attached with arts such as sketching. I would always draw cartoons and anime. But the funny thing is that I am not so into the faces of the characters, but to their costumes! I used to add details to their dresses even if originally, those details aren't really there.

3. I can recall when I was in the 5th and 6th grade, I would always spy during the Parent-Teacher Association Assemblies and draw the moms out there who wears fabulous outfits and details on it.

4. When I go home at night, inspired by what I saw, I will make my own designs especially dedicated to my mom.

5. When I joined the sketching competition, almost all of my competitors drew landscapes and scenarios while me, being too inclined with designing clothes, I sketched a fashion scene where ladies are wearing different designs that I made. Luckily, I won the competition.

6. The best thing I can recall and won't ever forget about my high school life is when I designed the gowns of all my girl classmates for our prom. I felt delighted when they made my designs a real gown and dresses. That's when I said to myself that I can have a lifetime relationship with fashion designing.

7. I took a program of Communication Arts as my focus course for my college studies.

8. I also designed various dresses for my college friends which they are turning into reality as they loved it.

9. After graduating AB Communication Arts, I had a chance to study Fashion Designing subjects at the Fashion Institute of the Philippines.

10. I had an encounter with many hands-on tasks which sharpened my knowledge about fashion designing and prepared me for my masteral at London where I studied more subjects about fashion designing.

11. It always makes me happy to reminisce how my dream of being a fashion designer will turn into a reality same as how my designs for my classmates during college and high school turned into fabulous gowns. Of course. They served as my first clients.

12. Now, I already have my own shop.

13.  I am already earning out of my designs. More than money, I am earning self growth and a star for my name as I make my clients happy and satisfied; as I make the wedding of my clients more sentimental, as I make the celebrities to become more than a star, as I make every man to look like more than a guy, and as I make the fashion industry indulged with my designs.
